Two hours ago I dropped off my husband for his annual duck hunting trip to North Dakota.
I pick him back up on Sunday.
I'll be staying all alone at our cabin up north.
I'm giddy.

Already I've brewed a pot of Starbucks, eaten two large slices of homemade butternut squash bread with melted butter and cinnamon sugar on top, taken a bubble bath, put on my favorite pajamas and set up my project(s) work station.

I've got three holiday events coming up, so during my alone time I'll be making a bunch of jewelry.  I'm thinking sparkly.  I'll paint some canvas collages and wooden signs.  My goal is to not leave the premises until Sunday...

Oh, Lucky the Studio Cat and my dog Pompeii are here too.
So technically I'm not all alone.

I just couldn't get enough of the spectacular Fall colors we had this year.

A couple weeks ago, my friend Karen and I walked up the trail at Rib Mountain State Park.
Luckily our dogs didn't seem to mind our leaf-peeping or the frequent stops to take pictures.

My husband and I got married up here in a small outdoor amphitheater, nine years ago in June.

Such a beautiful and special place!

This is the moment the sun came up in my happy place.
